1987 Porsche 911 Carrera
Located in Houston, Tx this beautiful 1987 Porsche Carrera has been professionally mechanically and cosmetically restored and is ready for a new owner.
The engine and transmission were removed and the engine was rebuilt.
While the engine was being rebuild, the body was disassembled for a glass out respray in the original Marine Blue Metallic paint.
The front seats and steering wheel were recovered in marine blue leather while the dashboard was wrapped in marine blue vinyl.
Engine rebuild consisting of new valve guides and valve job, crankshaft bearings, intermediate shaft bearings, rod bearings, timing chains and ramps and ARP head studs. When re-assembling the motor, all new gaskets, breather hoses, phenolic risers, ignition wires, cap and rotor.
New Griffiths fuel lines and oil lines for the camshafts and engine cooling system were installed along with a cat-bypass pipe.
The G50/01 transmission was cleaned and a new clutch and pressure plate were installed prior to mating the engine and gearbox.
When the chassis came back from paint a new headliner and carpet kit were installed. When it came time re-assemble the chassis, turbo tie rods were installed and all four corners received new brake rotors, rebuilt brake calipers, stainless braided brake lines, new brake pads and sensor.
The suspension was set to a more appropriate stance and the rear spring plate bushings were replaced with Elephant Racing rubber bushings.
All the glass including a new windshield was reinstalled with new OEM seals and the doors, hood and trunk all received new OEM seals.
The wheels were refinished and wrapped in Pirelli Corsa tires measuring 205/50/16 in front and 245/40/16 in the rear.
Everything on this car has been addressed over the last 4 months bringing this car to the point it is today. Anything that was not 100% functional was replaced and everything including the A/C works as it did when it left the assembly line in Stuttgart.
Also new ball joints, new side mirror motors, new side mirrors, new windshield, new Alpine bluetooth stereo with handsfree, new smile rubber, new rear JL audio speakers, new Bosch battery, swepco 201 gear lube, Brad Penn 20w50 engine oil. $32K in parts and paint (no labor) spent over last 4 months.
